23+ Hibiscus Leaves Turning Brown. I guess they could turn brown after turning yellow but before falling off. The leaves did have some signs of disease but we have sprayed the plant and it is looking better, however the buds are ready to open and then they turn brown.
The leaves on my hibiscus are not only turning yellow but have brown patches and the veins in the leaves are exposed.
Yellowing leaves on a plant can indicate a number of issues. Don't use regular soil, it doesn't breathe as much and may lead to root rot (and, in turn, more brown leaves). Brown around the edges of the leaves indicate windburn or toxic reaction to salt. This can ruin the tree's appearance temporarily, but it's unlikely to kill the tree.
